Our MINISTRIES
Opportunities to serve
Healing Ministry
Sundays after both services
And second Sunday of each month: Healing Sunday
Members of the Healing Ministry are available to pray with you after Sunday services and also once a month during Communion. Members are also happy to meet individually for private prayers at any time if asked.
Hospitality Committee
Church event support
This group meets quarterly to plan support for events such as funeral receptions, baptism receptions, the Bishop's annual visit and special coffee hours. They also buy & cook for the special breakfasts held here at St. Andrew's and manage clean up & stocking of supplies.
Welcoming Committee
Making visitors feel welcome
The Welcoming Committee makes sure to greet & welcome visitors. And if a new person has visited for several weeks, they are given a welcoming card to fill out; if it's returned, someone from the committee will set up a visitation to answer any questions or concerns. Assuring everyone always feels welcomed.
Outreach Committee
Supporting our local community and beyond
The Outreach Committee is dedicated to serving our community through volunteering and/or financial support. From the Humane Society of Chittenden County to the Colchester Community Food Shelf, to charities benefiting the homeless, youth, elders, the sick, prison ministries and beyond, the Outreach Committee is resolved to sharing Christ's love with those who need it most. To this end, 6.5% of weekly donations are given to the Outreach Committee; 2% goes to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund.
Church School
Teaching ministry for infants through school-age children
This fantastic & fun ministry involves spending time with our awesome kids. We have easy & fun lesson plans and offer plenty of support. You can also bring your own ideas to make the experience your own. Our Summer Sunday School is also available for those who can't make the school-year commitment.
Stewardship Ministry
Sharing the Gifts we have been given
The Stewardship ministry works to reinforce our faith via service beyond ourselves. To that end, Stewardship meets several times a year to discuss the best ways to utilize our time, talents (skills) and monies for the glory of God and betterment of our community and congregation.
Altar Guild
Assistance in worship
The Altar Guild members help prepare the church for the Eucharist on Sundays & Wednesday, as well as clean and maintain the many item & supplies (candles, linens, etc.) related to worship.
Music Ministry
Led by Vincent Pelletier
Music is such an important part of worship. Do you love to raise your voice in song? Or do you play an instrument? Our choir meets Thursdays (except summer) at 7:00 pm. Join us anytime--or speak to our Musical Director, Vincent Pelletier, and add your voice--or instrumental talent --to our worship.
Buildings and Grounds
Keeping the church clean & green
Many hands make light work in maintaining the beauty of our church and grounds. In addition to an annual "Spring Cleaning", help is appreciated year-round in cleaning & general maintenance, both inside and out, as well as the occasional special project, such as painting, etc.
